Assembly in Algeria of Idrobase high-pressure pumps for pressure washers and car wash applications will begin next November. Despite a challenging international economic climate, the Veneto-based company is seeing an encouraging acceleration in the growth strategy it has pursued across African markets for the past four years.
At the recent Batimatec Expo in Algiers,
the brand name of the company Dolly Pumps Algeria by Idrobase was unveiled. The initiative stems from a partnership with local entrepreneurs and will lead to the assembly also in Algeria of the new Dolly Pumps range, launched earlier this year by the Italian “pocket multinational.”. Pump components will be shipped to Africa from the group's other manufacturing facilities; once assembled locally, these Dolly Pumps will supply the markets of Algeria and the Saharan region.
Initial market response has already generated €1 million in new Idrobase supply orders for the Algerian market, ahead of the official launch of licensed production lines in the country, scheduled for 2027.
Idrobase Group, an international leader in components, pressure washers and high-pressure misting systems,
has recently concluded an intensive trade fair campaign. In addition to Algiers, the company showcased its various product lines at IFAT in Munich, following exhibitions in Milan, Shanghai and Amsterdam. “Despite the difficult economic climate, we are continuing to invest in global markets while others remain on the sidelines waiting for the storm to pass,” said
Bruno Ferrarese, Co-owner of Idrobase Group. “This is the context in which our commitment to establishing a licensed production facility in Algeria should be viewed.
As demonstrated by Idrobase Ningbo in China, this is not a strategy for relocating production, but rather a necessity to be closer to local markets.
”
Meanwhile, the transformation of operational processes continues at the Idrobase Group’s headquarters in Borgoricco, near Padua and Venice, through the implementation of Lean methodologies and the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the logistics chain. This approach has led to the development of the four-model Dolly Pumps range, distinguished by its maroon colour. The project has created a production model unique within the misting sector, one that is difficult to replicate and enables complete lifecycle management of each pump, including repair, replacement and refurbishment.
“However, we do not intend to stop here.
In line with the spirit of the Mattei Plan, we have chosen Algeria because it is a competitive market and a gateway to Africa. Our ambition is to export our business model across the continent in partnership with local entrepreneurs in other countries as well”, concluded Bruno Ferrarese.
