There's a consistent theme that connects the "Breathe Healthy Air" mission, undertaken by the Padua-based Idrobase Group with the inauguration of their new offices (which were destroyed in the devastating fire of summer 2022) that have recently obtained the Biosafe environmental health certification in class A. It's named workplace wellness and is the result of an innovative design approach.
This very fact will see its logical evolution into a start-up open to all "stakeholders" who have collaborated on achieving a new know-how "made in Italy", ready to be applied not just domestically, but globally.
“This significant achievement,” clarifies Bruno Ferrarese, Co-owner of Idrobase Group, “is a combination of the sanitizing action of the “safe breathing” Idrobase line (BKM devices and BKD detergents) and a meticulous effort to counteract every polluting element: from antibacterial paints on the walls to hypoallergenic furnishings, down to the specific types of plants known for their high capacity to absorb carbon dioxide (ficus robusta, nephrolepis, ficus elastica, dypsis lutescens)."
The air quality is continuously monitored by special equipment, and anyone can check it using a dedicated app.
Indeed, it's now well-established that the presence of chemical substances in production environments is closely linked to an increase in allergies, intolerances, hypersensitivity, often referred to as environmental diseases.
The vast majority of indoor pollutants belong to the category of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), which can be toxic or irritating. Just as many are the Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), also referred to as carcinogens. A separate mention is deserved for formaldehyde, used in many industrial and consumer products; exposure consequences range from irritations and allergies to respiratory issues and cancerous effects.
“The new ventilation system we designed and is now certified, eliminates all pollutants,” states Bruno Gazzignato, Co-owner of Idrobase Group. “Just as with the fog maker cannons dedicated to reducing dust in outdoor work environments, we used our company's evolution as a test for new solutions to offer to international markets.”
