Despite international uncertainty, driven by ongoing armed conflicts and Trump-era policies, leading to an estimated 10% decline in the global cleaning market, Idrobase Group continues to pursue its strategy of consolidation and expansion across African markets.
The company has announced the launch of Idrobase Morocco, which will supply components compatible with all major pressure washer brands, further reinforcing the leadership of Made in Italy in the sector. At the same time, preparations continue for the start of licensed production in Algeria.
“The agreement signed in Morocco is another key piece of our strategy,” says Bruno Ferrarese, Co-owner of Idrobase Group. “Alongside our headquarters in Borgoricco, near Padua in Italy, we are strengthening our presence in high-potential markets like China, where we’ve been operating for over 20 years, and Africa.”
“Despite recent incidents that also involved me personally, Libya remains of interest to us,” Ferrarese adds. “Even today, there are opportunities linked to the oil economy, and these will only grow significantly with foreign investments once the country stabilizes. That’s why we’re currently exploring partnerships with local entrepreneurs for new licensed production of pressure washers, detergents and vacuum systems.” Ferrarese was among a group of Italians recently evacuated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to armed clashes in Tripoli.
Initial financial data confirm the effectiveness of the company’s ongoing organizational transformation through the adoption of Lean methodology. With stable employment levels (around 50 employees in Italy), warehouse inventories have been reduced by 20%, production cycles have been optimized and prices for certain products have been lowered by up to 15%. The 2024 fiscal year closed with a 13% revenue increase (EBITDA: 12%). While the first two months of this year recorded a remarkable 25% increase, growth later slowed to 4% due to the challenging state of the global economy.
“In the current market conditions, that’s practically a miracle—proof of our brand’s strength and the company’s resilience”, says Bruno Gazzignato, Co-owner of Idrobase Group. “Thanks to our continuous search for new markets and maximum efficiency, we still expect to surpass 15 million euros in revenue by year-end—the same milestone we reached last year after overcoming the aftermath of the devastating 2022 fire.”
Following the launch of its new car washing product line at Autopromotec Bologna, another highlight came from ISSAPULIRE Milan. There, a university team sponsored by Idrobase Group took second place in the Hackathon challenge on how to improve cleaning company performance through Artificial Intelligence. The team proposed an innovative solution to enhance stadium cleaning, including the use of Idrobase Group’s fog cannons.
